About us
Auckland Transport is responsible for all of the region’s transport services (excluding state highways), from roads and footpaths, to cycling, parking and public transport.
Our day-to-day activities keep Auckland's transport systems moving; including planning and funding of public transport, promoting travel choices, managing on and off-street parking and operating the local roading network.
To succeed, our Technology Strategy must have people and businesses at its heart, making them part of the change, helping the city to function better and to better meet the needs of citizens and transport users.
Our APIs
We have a range of API's and transport data, including data from Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency. By sharing this data we’d like to make innovation easier and enable the developer community to explore new ways of improving Auckland's transport system.
You will need to sign up to use our API's - registration is free. Once registered view the Products page to subscribe to the APIs, we allow 600 calls/minute and 35,000 calls/week. If you face any issues please contact us for help.
Once you sign up you can use the subscription key in one of two ways:
Add the Ocp-Apim-Subscription-Key HTTP header to the request, passing the value of a valid subscription key.
Include the subscription-key query parameter and a valid value in the URL. The query parameter is checked only if the header isn't present.

Get realtime information about bus, train and ferry trips, positions and alerts on the Auckland Transport network.

AT Mobile uses our APIs to help users plan and track journeys across AT Metro's bus, train and ferry services, by bike or on foot. Regardless of whether you’re a frequent commuter, occasional traveler or new to Auckland, the AT Mobile app helps make getting around Auckland easy.
